CHAUTAUQUA – Live performances are back at the Chautauqua Institution, and there are some names that you won’t want to miss.

The first event will be on Saturday, June 26, when Chris Thile will be performing at the 4,400 person outdoor venue.

Other big performers include Wynonna Judd, Harry Connick, Jr., Lewis Black, The Roots and Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Bill Engvall, and world-renowned singer Smokey Robinson.

Most shows will operate at 80 percent capacity, with priority given to those who show proof of COVID-19 vaccination. A select few events will allow for 100 percent capacity. Unvaccinated children are allowed to sit in the vaccinated section with inoculated adults.

Attendees are allowed to enter Chautauqua Institute grounds four hours prior to the scheduled showtime. There will be free access to art galleries and opportunities to go to shops and restaurants.

More information is available at chq.org/schedule.

  1. How come Chautauqua Institution has a very large wall around it?

How come you have to go through the gate?

Seems to me, to be a form of “old” white supremacy, keeping the poorer folks out with their walls & gated community.
