MAYVILLE – A 50-year-old Jamestown man is accused of assaulting staff at the Chautauqua County Jail.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office alleges Oliver Bookman assaulted jail staff causing physical injury earlier this month.

Last week deputies say Bookman was arraigned on the charge of second-degree assault in the Town of Chautauqua Court.

He was then held in the jail facility, deputies said.
