MAYVILLE – A Chautauqua County school district is being sued by a former student under the Child Victims Act.

As first reported by WRFA, the suit was filed last week against Panama Central School in Chautauqua County Supreme Court.

Court documents explain that an unnamed former female student was sexually abused at the school, and at other locations, by another student multiple times between 1992 and 1997.

The suit claims that the school district failed to keep the student safe, even after Busti Police recommended something should be done to separate the two students.

The victim, who is now an adult, is seeking compensation and punitive damages.

The law firm Phillips & Paolicelli in New York City is representing the former student.
