BEMUS POINT – Flooding rain caused an evacuation of the Shore Acres area in Bemus Point Friday afternoon.

The Bemus Point Fire Department responded to the area around 4 p.m. to reports of flooding. The water was very high within the Shore Acres mobile home park, leading to the Chautauqua County Water Emergency Team to assist with possible evacuations.

Prior to CCWET’s arrival, the water began to recede which allowed access to anyone still in the mobile home park to leave. Water rescue members were able to check on residents and advised them that additional rain was forecasted and the flooding could return overnight hours.

Officials said no injuries were reported as a result of the flooding.
