WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Tom Reed is pushing a new energy proposal that would encourage the use of new technologies to enhance clean energy across the nation.
Reed joined House Ways and Means member Rep. Jimmy Panetta (D-CA-20) in introducing the Energy Sector Innovation Credit Act this week.
The proposal incentivizes breaks for companies to use more efficient and cleaner methods of technology, attempting to persuade companies leaving a lighter footprint on their global effects.
Congressman Reed says that, “it is time Congress finally acts to mobilize American ingenuity and fully unleash the power of new innovative energy technologies.”
Further backing the proposal was Congressman Panetta who says, “to combat the ever-growing climate crisis, we can use the tax code to incentivize clean energy innovation for next-generation technologies.”
The entire bill is posted online.
