JAMESTOWN – A 28-year-old man died after they became stuck under a pickup truck in Jamestown.

Jamestown Police say fire and EMS crews were dispatched to 153 Hopkins Avenue, a Service Master garage, for a report of a subject trapped under a vehicle just after 7 a.m. Friday.

Officers say units arrived and found the male victim, later identified as Christopher Brawdy of Ashville, trapped under a pickup truck that was being worked on inside the garage at the location.

Brawdy, police report, died as result of injuries sustained from the weight of the vehicle falling upon him while he worked on the truck.

The truck fell on him around 4:30 p.m. Thursday, however police say Brawdy was not found until the morning Friday.

Authorities confirmed that he was not an employee of the shop and was only using the garage to do private work on the vehicle.

The cause of death is believed to be accidental, police said.
