RANDOLPH – Hundreds of residents remain without power in parts of Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties following a severe thunderstorm overnight.

As of 9:30 a.m. Monday NYSEG’s outage map reports 280 customers are without power across 16 different outage areas.

Specifically, outages are contained to northeastern parts of Randolph, north to Ellington, South Dayton and Cattaraugus. Areas west of Little Valley are also still without electricity.

For those with National Grid’s service, the news gets better with only 35 customers impacted between the two counties.

According to their outage map, sporadic outages do continue for a few National Grid customers in Sinclairville, Portland and Sheridan. There are also fewer then five homes impacted via an outage in Steamburg.

Around midnight a heavy line of thunderstorms brought heavy wind which in several locations toppled trees and powerlines.
