CELERON – The Resource Center held its “Everyday Heroes” award ceremony this week, honoring a group of their employees.

The nonprofit organization held a ceremony Wednesday honoring seven Direct Service Providers. This year’s honorees are: Robert Thompson, Britnie Barmore, Althea Maxwell, Shelia St. John, Katy Lauffenburger, Sabrina Avery, and Mary Jane Mizner.

Speakers included Denise Jones, The Resource Center’s President and CEO, Assembly member Andrew Goodell, and representatives from Congressman Tom Reed’s office and State Senator George Borrello.

In addition to celebrating this year’s awardees, Jones focused on advocating for living wages and employment opportunities within the organization, and pledged to continue advocating for the employees who have been working throughout the pandemic to help people with disabilities.
