ERIE (Erie News Now) – The Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office is warning of a scam targeting home improvement contractors.
Scammers are reaching out to home improvement contractors and alleging their contractor license has expired.
The Attorney General’s Office said it is a registration – not a license – and that it would not ask contractors to pay registration fees through PayPal.
Contractors who receive the scam email are asked to report it to the Bureau of Consumer Protection.
