BUFFALO – One of the Buffalo Sabres’ star players could be leaving Western New York.

TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger reports that the team is trading Jack Eichel to the Vegas Golden Knights. In addition to Eichel, the team is giving up a 2023 third round pick in the NHL draft.

The Knights, Dreger reports, are giving up Peyton Krebs, Alex Tuch, a first round pick in the 2022 draft, and a third-round pick in the 2023 draft.

Tuch, a Syracuse native, is no stranger to the sport. His brother Luke played for the Buffalo Junior Sabres before he was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens.

Dreger reports Eichel is expected to have the disc replacement surgery he wanted, and the Sabres disagreed over “very soon.”

As of now, there is still no official word from the team.
