JAMESTOWN – Several ceremonies to honor those serving in the armed forces will take place next week in Jamestown on Veterans Day.

Several groups, like the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 53, will take part in the services.

The first ceremony will happen at Veterans Memorial Park along West Third Street at 10 a.m. Thursday.

Those in attended will take part in a small reading, fireguard salute and the playing of “Taps.”

At 11 a.m. the group will join those with the local American Legion and Vietnam Veterans of America chapter in a ceremony downtown at the corner of Third and Main Streets.

A 21-gun salute and music from the Jamestown High School Marching Band will be featured. A service will then follow at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church just a block away.

After that, the groups will host another ceremony at Soldier’s Circle in Lake View Cemetery.
