Heritage Launches “Bring The Joy” Campaign With Unique Parade

GERRY – A local elderly care provider has launched a campaign to “bring the joy” this holiday season.

As part of their mission, Heritage Ministries is working to make sure residents of their senior living communities get to see a Thanksgiving Day parade, complete with all the floats, fanfare, and a few extra surprises.

However, the Thanksgiving Day parade “floats” won’t feature stories-high balloons or live performers, but rather, miniature recreations in shoeboxes.

They are asking for community members and businesses to submit floats designed from shoeboxes, or similar materials, for the parade.

Once gathered, a virtual “parade” will be posted online starting on Thanksgiving Day to view.

Participants can view guidelines, register to enter, and upload photos of their floats online at heritage1886.org/joy.

The creations can also be dropped off at their local Heritage community building through November 14 at 5 p.m.
