DUNKIRK – Jamestown’s former Director of Development was appointed to a similar role in the City of Dunkirk on Tuesday.
The Dunkirk Common Council unanimously approved Vince DeJoy as the next Director of Planning and Development after he was appointed by the city’s Mayor.
He retired in 2019 from the role as Director Of Development in Jamestown after nearly 12 years of service.
DeJoy then opened a restaurant, “Jimmy’s Family Restaurant” at the former Friendly’s location in Brooklyn Square.
The venture, however, abruptly closed following three months of operation.
In his new role in Dunkirk, he will be charged with progressing economic development in the north county city. The area has already seen growth with their waterfront neighborhood in recent years.
