RANDOLPH – Shops along “Main Street” in towns across the nation are gearing up for Small Business Saturday, including Randolph’s hometown retailer.

Cathy and Tom Congdon are busy rolling out the final preparations for this weekend at the Randolph Retail Company at 127 Main Street in Randolph.

The husband and wife are urging those who haven’t paid a visit to their store already to do so this ‘Black Friday’ and ‘Small Business Saturday.’

“Randolph Retail has unique things to offer, and the service that Cathy provides to them is absolutely wonderful, as a matter fact we make home deliveries, we make deliveries up into Jamestown, and Randolph here too, so we enjoy that small hometown touch that we offer, that you may not be able to find at other department stores,” said Tom Congdon.

While Randolph Retail primarily focuses on women’s clothing, the store highlights their holiday collection, specifically touting the unique items you won’t find at big box stores.

“We have a nice variety of Christmas ornaments, because Randolph is the home of the cardinals, we do have a lot of cardinal ornaments, and many people see a cardinal as a symbol of someone who has passed, so many people that have had losses in the family come here and look for a nice cardinal ornament in honor of their loved one,” explained Cathy Congdon.

Although many businesses have been impacted by supply chain issues, the couple tell us you shouldn’t have to worry about shopping with them.

“We know that some stores are having difficulty getting their supplies in, so that they are well stocked for the Christmas season, but we are well stocked for the Christmas season,” furthered Tom Congdon. “Things usually in the past years would come in smaller groups, for example, our clothing would come in a certain time, maybe March, in April, or May, but this time everything came at once, so we were inundated with supplies clothing in particular”

As for their Black Friday bargains, the business plans to continue a long-time tradition.

“We’re going to spin for a discount, and that’s always fun 10 percent, 20 percent, or 30 percent off; we spin the wheel,” said Cathy Congdon.
