WARREN – The red kettle campaign in Warren is facing a $40,000 dollar deficit in their annual holiday donation drive.

Last year at this time, the Warren Campaign raised $64,000 and currently, the campaign has only raised $23,000.

As Salvation Army Major Keith Jache explains, there are several factors contributing to the shortfall.

“We don’t have as many groups, and then on top of that a lot of groups are getting COVID,” explained Jache. “Last year I had all of them (the stores) filled, this year I’m lucky if I can get half of them filled.”

As an alternative to donating in person, Jache says anyone can donate online at salvationarmy.org.

Those interested in volunteering their time to ring the bell in Warren are asked to call his office at (814) 723-8950.
