New COVID-19 Infections Decrease In Chautauqua County, Deaths Increase

JAMESTOWN – For the third week in a row, the number of new COVID-19 infections continued to decrease in Chautauqua County. However, the number of virus-related deaths increased.

The County Health Department reported 544 new cases on Tuesday. Of those, 131 are located in Jamestown. There are now 470 cases active, a drop from 602 from the week prior.











The number of hospitalizations also slightly decreased to 39 patients. Of those, officials say 82 percent are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

As for virus related deaths, the health department repots 14 people passed away last week bringing the total number of deaths connected to COVID-19 since the pandemic began to 271.

To date, there have been over 18,400 recorded cases of COVID-19 in Chautauqua County with 17,600 of them recovering.
