County Records Lowest Unemployment Rate Since The Late 1990’s

MAYVILLE – Chautauqua County had recorded its lowest unemployment rate since the late 1990s.

According to New York State Labor Department data, the unemployment rate in December was 3.5 percent. That figure is down nearly one percent from the month before.








The DOL says over 49,000 county residents are marked as “employed,” that is an increase of around 500 when comparing November to December.

As for those who are unemployed, the Department says around 1,800 are jobless.
