LAKEWOOD – A staple of a popular summertime celebration could make a comeback this year: fireworks.

The Village of Lakewood is looking to resume its annual Summer Fest celebration, which includes the possibility of hosting Independence Day Fireworks.

Local lawmakers on the Village’s Board of Trustees voted in favor of reviving the festival after it was put off due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Officials are looking to hire a Pennsylvania based fireworks company to host the display.

In addition to fireworks, a slew of street vendors and entertainment options for families would also take place over the Fourth of July Weekend.
