SHERMAN, NY (Erie News Now) – A championship celebration continues in Sherman, NY after the girls basketball team won the Section 6 Championship.
The local fire department escorted the champions back to Sherman High School Monday, following their victory.
The Wildcats defeated Pine Valley Central 59 to 37 to claim the Section Six Class-D, New York State Public High School Athletic Association Championship.
Sherman High advances to the state regional on Saturday near Rochester. If they are victorious, they will move onto the state Final Four in Albany in two weeks.
