JAMESTOWN – Department of Public Works crews in Jamestown are getting ready for yet another blast of winter weather this weekend.

Mark Schlemmer tells us that crews hope this storm will be one of the last of the season.

We’ve heard from the city’s Civil Engineer on many occasions this winter as his team worked tirelessly to keep local roadways free of ice and snow.

With spring on the horizon, he is hopeful that mother nature will let up soon. In fact, he says the longevity to this winter season has been taking a toll on plow drivers, especially those working overnight.

Schlemmer goes on to say that another factor will be in play this weekend: road construction. Crews will be paying extra attention when clearing snow in construction zones.
