LAKEWOOD – A 42-year-old Bemus Point woman is facing several charges after allegedly leading police on a vehicle pursuit over the weekend.

Officers with the Lakewod-Busti Police Department were investigating a noise complaint around 1:30 a.m. Sunday in the area of East Terrance Avenue in Lakewood.

Police stopped Shelia Anderson’s vehicle, and when officers started to speak with her, they say she became angry, and started yelling profanities, before speeding away.

Those responding pursued Anderson, who they say failed to comply with lights and sirens. She eventually came to a stop on West Summit Avenue.

Anderson has since been charged with failure to stop at a stop sign, speeding 56-mph in a 30-mph zone, and reckless driving; among other crimes.

She was later released with appearance tickets for the Town of Busti Court.
