Two Hurt Following Weekend Stabbing At Fredonia Bar

FREDONIA – Two people were hurt following a stabbing at a Village of Fredonia bar over the weekend.

The Fredonia Police Department responded to Sunny’s Tavern around 2 a.m. Sunday, and when officers arrived on scene, they found a crowd of people exiting the building and gathering along Canadaway Street.











Two victims were located by police, and attended to by Fredonia Fire and Rescue, before they were taken to Brooks Memorial Hospital.

Police say one victim received wounds from a violent altercation that took place on the dance floor. They have since been released from care with non-life threatening injuries.

The other victim, officers report, refused medical attention and released themselves from the hospital with minimal injuries.









The stabbing is still under investigation, and Fredonia Police asking anyone with information in the case to contact Department at (716) 679-1531.

Dunkirk Police, SUNY Fredonia University Police, and New York State Police assisted in the investigation.
