JAMESTOWN – Saturday is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day nationwide, and there are several opportunities to properly dispose of expired or unused medications across Chautauqua County.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., collection sites will be open at the old Five Star Bank on Fairmount Avenue in Lakewood, Westfield Family Physicians, and the Alstar Ambulance headquarters in Dunkirk.

While liquids and things like needles will not be accepted, volunteers will be on hand to accept all types of prescription pills anonymously.

If you can’t make it out this weekend, there are several drop box locations open all year. A full list of sites is posted online at preventionworks.us.
