FALCONER – An annual clean-up of the Village of Falconer is taking place on Saturday.

The Falconer Rotary Club and Village officials are hosting the Community Cleanup which starts at the Falconer Fire Department on Davis Street at 9 a.m. and runs through 3 p.m.

This corresponds with the Rotary District 7090 Great Lakes Watershed Clean Up. The Rotary Club focuses on local waterways that surround and flow through the Village,  including the Chadakoin River and Moon Brook Creek.

The push for participants is now underway, asking volunteers to bring their own rakes, brooms and gloves, along with other items they may need. Garbage bags will be provided including a complimentary lunch following the event.

The Village will also be providing new dumpsters this year that will be available to Village residents only. Dumpsters will be located behind the Village Garage on Coleson Drive.

Residents can bring any items they wish to discard without charge with the following exceptions:

  1. No electronic devices such as; televisions, computers, or VCRS
  2. All Types of Tires
  3. Refrigerators must be tagged that all freon has been removed before the Village can accept them
  4. No paint, thinners, household hazard chemicals or fuel oils, etc.

This is an opportunity for Village Residents to clean in and around their homes and neighborhoods. Residents must present a photo id and proof of residency for dumpster use.

Those look to getting involved should call the Village Hall at (716) 665-4400.
