One Dies In Frewsburg Fire

FREWSBURG – One person died during a house fire in Frewsburg on Monday morning, the Sheriff’s Office confirms.

Several area fire departments first responded to a house fire at the corner of Main and Pearl Streets after 7 a.m.





Around 9 a.m. most of the fire was extinguished with firefighters checking for hotspots throughout the home when the victim was discovered.

Captain Randy Boland, with the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office tells WNY News Now the deceased was located on the first floor of the apartment house.

The County Coroner is on scene along with the Sheriff’s Office fire Investigation Team and Town of Carroll Police.





















Boland says an investigation into the blaze is now underway, with the name and identity of the victim expected to be released after identification is made.

As for the extent of damage, the structure remains standing however much of the home suffered heavy fire and water damage.

A good stretch of Main Street is closed as an investigation into the fire gets underway.

Firefighter’s responded quickly to knock down flames, with the Frewsburg Fire Department just across the street from the scene.
