Washington D.C. – Senator Pat Toomey is part of a bipartisan group of senators working on gun legislation. He says so far these talks are going in the right direction.
On Twitter, Toomey says in part they’re working on “legislation that can help prevent other tragedies in America without infringing on law abiding citizens’ second amendment rights.”
He doesn’t specify as to what kind of legislation they’re discussing, but adds that he’s optimistic they can create something together.
Following the recent mass shootings in Buffalo, Uvalde and Tusla, people are encouraging congress to do something to help prevent mass shootings.
In the past, each party has accused the other of not working with each other on controversial issues, but it looks like both parties are making a lot of effort to find some common ground.
