Cost Of Gas Rapidly Raising Statewide

JAMESTOWN – As time moves on, the price of Gasoline continues to rise.

AAA says today the national average is $4.92, more than 50 cents higher than it was a month ago, and almost $2 more than it was a year ago.

As for New York State, the current average price of gas is $4.94, just slightly above the national average.


The average price per gallon in Chautauqua County is $4.73 per gallon. 20 cents less than the state average.

With the trend in rising prices, the cost per gallon could reach record highs by the end of the Summer.
