BUFFALO (ERIE NEWS NOW) – Country music superstar Garth Brooks will be playing at Highmark Stadium in Buffalo on July 23rd, during the second to last performance in his stadium tour.
Erie News Now sat down with him for a one-on-one interview ahead of the start of ticket sales.
“The people show up in record numbers and they know every syllable or every word of every song,” he said.
In July, Brooks will perform his second to last show on his first and last stadium tour ever, at Highmark Stadium.
This tour has broken 24 attendance records and was named the best selling country music tour in 2019 with about 90,000 tickets sold in every city.
“Buffalo needs us right now,” he said. “They have been through a lot, so bring the love. If you are going to come to this stadium, be ready to be chaotic fun, and loud. Bring your helmet but at the same time, bring your heart and fill it up because these people need it.We need to get there, we need to be part of the healing, and we need to sing together and sing together loud. That makes it easier on the old man and fun for everyone else.”
He’s received every accolade the recording industry can bestow on an artist but told Erie News Now it’s about the fans and he’s the one with the best seat in the house.
“I watch people who if were probably in a room together wouldn’t get along because they are either red or blue, black or white, but for some reason they are still singing ‘Friends in Low Places’ with their arms around each other,” Brooks said.
That’s why, despite inflation and high gas prices he still hopes people come together in Buffalo in a few weeks, not just for him, but for one another.
Tickets for Garth Brooks’ show at Highmark Stadium go on-sale at 10 am ET on Friday, June 17th. There’s an eight ticket limit on purchases.
