GERRY – A 26-year-old Jamestown woman was accused of driving while impaired by drugs with four children in her vehicle following a traffic stop in the Town of Gerry.
New York State Police report that Minerva Torres was pulled over on Sunday for alleged traffic violations on Route 60 in Gerry.
Following an investigation by troopers on scene, it was suspected Torres was under the influence of drugs.
After failing several standardized field sobriety tests, Torres was transported to the State Police Barracks in Jamestown where she was evaluated by a New York State Police Drug Recognition Expert.
Torres, police said, later provided a blood sample at UPMC Chautauqua Hospital before she was issued tickets and released.
The four children that were in Torres’ vehicle at the time of the traffic stop have since been turned over to a third party.
