ERIE, Pa. (Erie News Now) – Fourth of July is typically spent behind the grill. Peter Maas from Ferrier’s True Value Hardware are laying out tips for those grilling for Independence Day.

He recommends beginners start with propane vs the classic charcoal.

“Starting out everybody wants charcoal, but charcoal is work”, said Peter Maas from Ferrier’s True Value Hardware.

While some people prefer the charcoal taste.

When looking for new gadgets, he recommends a Bluetooth thermometer.

You just plug into the meat and get alerts on your phone.
