JAMESTOWN, NY (WNY News Now) – Two Western New York residents have filed a lawsuit against a new state gun law restricting concealed carried.

Back on September 1, the new law went into effect expanding the number of sensitive and restricted locations where guns could be carried, like schools, daycares, libraries, restaurants that serve alcohol.

Plaintiffs of the suit claim that the new law designating goes “far beyond any constitutionally relevant historical justification.”

Locally, a push to help easily identify businesses welcoming lawful concealed carry practices is underway in Chautauqua County.

The Sheriff’s Office has printed new posters businesses or private residences can place on their window acknowledging the new law, and their stance that welcomes concealed carry.
