Police Investigate Shot Fired Incident At Erie, Pennsylvania Mall

ERIE, Pa. (Erie News Now) – Police are investigating after a shot was fired in the Millcreek Mall’s food court in Erie, Pa. on Sunday.

It started when a fight was reported inside in the food court area just after 4 p.m.


Mall officials said one shot was found in the ceiling. No shooting victims were found, and police recovered a gun.

“At this time, it is believed that there was an altercation between specific individuals, and nobody was struck by the shot,” according to a statement from Millcreek Township Police.

Officers were looking for a man who ran from scene. He was reportedly taken into custody for questioning near Men’s Warehouse.



A second person is also in police custody for questioning.

A 35-year-old man was taken to the hospital with facial injuries.

Officials said the mall is open, and there is no active threat. However, police cordoned off part of the mall Sunday after the incident.

Police continue to investigate the active situation.
