LAKEWOOD, NY (WNY News Now) – This month, the Lakewood Fire Department has started to bill for emergency medical services.
As part of recently passed state legislation, the newly created Lakewood EMS Department will bill health insurance companies and/or Medicare and Medicaid for medical services.
Patients specifically will not be billed for care; however, additional information will be requested upon treatment. In most cases, a village resident’s co-pay will be waived.
