JAMESTOWN, NY (WNY News Now) – A woman was hurt by her own out of control vehicle before it rolled down a city block striking several parked cars and even a building in Jamestown on Wednesday.

Just before 9:30 a.m. Jamestown Police and Fire personnel, along with ALSTAR EMS, were dispatched to the Boys and Girls Club on Allen Street for a reported vehicle vs pedestrian accident.

Following a preliminary investigation, officers on scene told WNY News Now a Jeep parked at the club’s parking lot suddenly began to roll while the driver was attempting to enter the vehicle.

The jeep then continued across Allen Street, hit a parked car, and continued down a driveway where the vehicle likely picked up speed. The 4×4 then struck a residential porch before crossing Victoria Avenue where it came to rest in a parking lot after striking two additional cars.

The vehicle’s female driver, police said, suffered a minor injury and was taken to the nearby UPMC Chautauqua Hospital via ambulance. Lucky, no one else was hurt as a result of the accident.

While an investigation continues, officers believe the Jeep’s “stick shift” may have been bumped out of gear which led to the runaway Jeep.
