Chautauqua County (WNY News Now) — The county’s jobless rate rose slightly last month, but remained lower than the statewide average.
The New York State Labor Department reported Tuesday that Chautauqua County’s preliminary unemployment rate in December was 3.8 percent, up from 3.5 percent the previous month.
There were about 2,000 unemployed workers in the county in December, up from 1,800 in November.
New York State’s jobless rate remained unchanged last month at 4.3 percent.
