ERIE, Pa. (Erie News Now) — From northwest Pennsylvania to Western New York, residents looked up just before 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, and saw what appeared to be a string of Christmas lights dangling across the sky.

It’s believed the row is a string of satellites, launched into orbit by Elon Musk’s company SpaceX on Sunday.

SpaceX launched another batch of Starlink satellites into orbit early Sunday morning.

A Falcon 9 rocket topped with 55 Starlink internet satellites lifted off from Cape Canaveral Space Force station in Florida just after noon on Sunday.

The Falcon 9’s first stage returned to earth 8-and-a-half minutes after liftoff, touching down on the SpaceX droneship “a shortfall of gravitas,” stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.

SpaceX later confirmed all 55 satellites successfully deployed a little over an hour after liftoff.

This was the company’s 10th mission of year, and the 12th launch and landing for this particular booster.

Residents in Waterford, PA also reported seeing a string of lights appear in the sky above East 1st Street.

They sent us the video, and we did a little research. Apparently it’s not the first time people have seen a string of lights like this recently.

We believe the row is a string of satellites, launched into orbit by Elon Musk’s company SpaceX on Sunday morning.

Sources say sunlight reflects off the surface of the satellites as they pass overhead.
