Fredonia Residential Fire Blamed On Improperly Discarded Smoking Materials

FREDONIA, NY (WNY News Now) – A residential fire in Fredonia is blamed on improperly discarded smoking materials.

On Tuesday morning the Fredonia Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire at 19 Central Avenue in the Village of Fredonia.

After extinguishing the fire, the Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team was requested to determine the fire’s cause and origin.


An investigation found that the fire was accidental in nature and caused by improperly discarded smoking materials coming into contact with combustibles on the building’s rooftop.
