American Gladiators Back in National Spotlight

The popular television show American Gladiators made its mark in the 1980’s and 90’s and was conducted in a tournament style format.

The show pitted amateur athletes vs the show’s own gladiators, in contests of strength and agility.


The concept was created by Erie’s Dann Carr and John Ferraro and the first competition was held at Erie’s Tech Memorial High School.

Tuesday night in Toronto, Ontario, ESPN will debut its latest 30-30 award winning documentary series, “The American Gladiators.”

Ben Berman is the Director for the Documentary and Kirk Johnson serves as Co-Director.



The two-part Documentary will air on ESPN, May 30 and 31.
