JAMESTOWN, NY (WNY News Now) – The Jamestown Tarp Skunks played their first home game this week. With a stadium full of fans eager for the baseball season to kick off.

Hundreds of fans made their way to the stadium, with many sporting their favorite Tarp Skunks attire. 


For one fan, being back at the stadium was a breath of fresh air. 

“It’s a beautiful day,“ explained fan Adam Irgang. “It’s the first game of the season, and I’m excited.”

The stadium saw a slew of children enjoying the sport.











We spoke to two of the Tarp Skunks Bat Boys about their love of the sport.

“It’s fun,“ stated Luke. 

“Probably going to be playing baseball, and watching games,” explained Jack.

Even Whiffy the Tarp Skunk had a few words to say.



“….” said Whiffy.

The Tarp Skunks won against the Olean Oilers 7-4. This game was just an exhibition match and doesn’t count for any standings in the season to come.

Their next game is Wednesday June 7th at 11 a.m. The game will be a kids day game featuring various local schools attending the game.
