JAMESTOWN, NY (WNY News Now) – The City of Jamestown has released their 2023 construction season schedule, showcasing a staggering amount of projects.
Similar to last year, a slew of federal funding has been given to the pearl city to improve the city’s aging streets.
More projects may be added to the list if construction sites are completed early, and as more funding becomes available,
Public Works Chair Randy Daversa blames the good summer weather for the amount of work the city can get done.
“Well last year was the biggest road construction in the City of Jamestown that we’ve had in a long long time, and due to the funds that were available through CHIPS and state and federal funds,” explained Daversa. “And this year is going to be the same. We also got quite a bit of money to do the same thing, and with the good weather, we’re going to have a banner year we expect.”
All projects are expected to be completed by the end of Summer and Fall season. Timeframes may change depending on a multitude of reasons, from weather, material prices, and contractor availability.
