Jamestown Fistfight And Shooting

JAMESTOWN, NY (WNY News Now) – A Fistfight led to a shooting in the City of Jamestown Friday night. 

Officers of the Jamestown Police Department Violent Crime Unit responded to a call about a  report of multiple gunshots in the East 2nd Street area at around 9:43 p.m. 

After checking the area, 25-year-old Darius Franklin was found in the middle of a physical altercation with another man in the road.

A woman on the scene reported that Franklin had fired several shots at her, and in the process hit two vehicles owned by nearby businesses. 

Police were able to find a discarded shotgun in a parking lot close to the scene. 

Franklin was taken to the Jamestown City Jail and charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the fourth degree, Reckless Endangerment in the first degree, Menacing in the second and multiple other Jamestown City Code Violations. 

Darius is being held in the Jamestown City Jail pending arraignment in the Jamestown City Court.
