JAMESTOWN, NY (WNY News Now) – A routine traffic stop turned into a double arrest early Monday morning.

Officers of the Jamestown Police Department Violent Crime Unit performed a routine traffic stop in the 21 South and Main Street area for a vehicle allegedly committing numerous traffic infractions at around 2:02 a.m. June 26.

Upon approaching the vehicle, the occupants were identified to be Darius Franklin and a female victim.

Further investigation found that Franklin was violating a Stay Away Order of Protection, requiring him to keep his distance from the female inside the vehicle.

Police also determined that the woman had an outstanding arrest warrant in the City of Jamestown.

Both Franklin and the female were taken into custody and the Jamestown City Jail.

The woman was booked on her outstanding warrants and released with traffic tickets.
