
DUNKIRK, NY (WNY News Now) – A Jamestown man caught swiping e-bikes was arrested in the City of Dunkirk.
Dunkirk Police responded to a call about multiple stolen e-bikes in the Franklin Avenue area at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, June 16.
Upon checking the area, 35-year-old Luis Rivera-Hernandez was spotted placing an e-bike in the back of a vehicle.
After checking the bike’s serial number, police determined the bike was stolen and proceeded to arrest and charge Rivera-Hernandez with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 5th degree, a Class A misdemeanor.
Further investigation led to the discovery of several other stolen items hidden in the surrounding area and returned to their owners.
The Dunkirk Police Department are reminding residents to lock their vehicles and outbuildings and to contact the police if they see any suspicious activity at 366-2266.
