Smoky Air In Chautauqua County

JAMESTOWN, NY (WNY News Now) – Poor air conditions made its way to Chautauqua County Wednesday, we speak to those on the lake about their feelings on the smoky air.

Due to the Canadian wildfires, smoky air has returned to our region, bringing in toxic air conditions.

Air quality values are expected to be greater than 151 for Fine Particulates, causing a great health concern for Chautauqua County.

The Chautauqua County Health Department recommends for all residents to stay inside and to wear a mask if you need to be outdoors.

We found a Cincinnati Man on Chautauqua Lake who was amazed to see the smoke blanketing the waterfront.

“I’m just visiting Jamestown just to see the attractions, decided I’m leaving today,“ explained Ricky. “Came out here to get a couple more sights in and take some pictures.”

The Chautauqua County Office of Emergency Services and the County Health Department have masks available for the public.
