Civil rights groups are denouncing the actions of an Ohio police officer who released a k-9 and told it to attack an unarmed black man surrendering to police.
This happened on july fourth in Circleville Ohio some 25 miles south of Columbus.
The Ohio Department of Public Safety released the video.
Investigators say the suspect, Jadarrius Rose of Tennessee led police on a chase after they tried to pull him over for a traffic stop.
Police eventually used stop sticks and Rose got out of his semi-truck.
A state trooper told a Circleville officer not to release the K-9 because Rose’s hands were up.
The officer ignored the trooper and still released the dog.
The k-9 attacked Rose as he pleaded with officers to get the animal off of him.
