
Jamestown, NY (WNY News Now) – Jamestown Police apprehend James Hayes (33) of Ellicott following an armed robbery at Kwik Fill on 7/31/23, where the suspect allegedly brandished a handgun and stole money from the store before fleeing.
James Hayes, a resident of Ellicott, was arrested on 7/31/23 for committing an armed robbery at a Kwik Fill store in Jamestown. Jamestown Police responded to the scene after receiving a report of the incident shortly before 6:00 p.m.
According to witnesses Hayes allegedly brandished a handgun during the robbery and forcefully took money from the store before making his escape. Local authorities, with the assistance of the Town of Ellicott Police Department, conducted a thorough investigation and successfully located Hayes without further incident.
Following his arrest, James Hayes was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where he is being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. He is facing charges of Robbery 1st Degree, Grand Larceny 2nd Degree, and Menacing 2nd Degree.
