Busti, NY (WNY News Now) – The Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team has determined that a residential fire which occurred on Wellman Road in the Town of Busti on August 7th, 2023, was attributed to an electrical problem within a power strip.
On Monday, August 7th, 2023, emergency services were dispatched to an address on Wellman Road in the Town of Busti at approximately 3:54 PM in response to a reported structure fire. The Town of Busti Fire Department, along with several neighboring mutual aid fire departments converged on the scene to combat the blaze.
The fire was successfully extinguished by the combined efforts of the responding fire departments. Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team was brought in to investigate the cause of the incident.
Following a thorough investigation, fire investigators determined that the fire was ignited due to an electrical issue within a power strip situated within the residence.
