Jamestown, NY (WNY News Now) – Jamestown Police Department supported by their SWAT Team, conducted a search warrant yesterday August 17th, 2023, leading to the apprehension of a convicted felon and the discovery of firearms, drugs, and related paraphernalia at a residence on Victoria Avenue.
Jamestown Police Department arrested Michael E. Hitchcock after executing a search warrant at 76 Victoria Avenue as part of an ongoing investigation. The operation was conducted by the Jamestown Police Department’s SWAT Team, aimed to uncover potential illegal activities at the residence.
The search yielded a significant haul, as law enforcement officials seized multiple firearms, drugs, and paraphernalia from the premises. Among the confiscated items were handguns, an AR15 rifle and several other weapons that Hitchcock, a convicted felon, could not legally own.
As a direct result of the search warrant, Hitchcock was apprehended and taken into custody. He was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where he is currently being held pending his arraignment on a series of charges.
Hitchcock faces a slew of weapon charges. They are: 3 counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree, a Class C felony, 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree, a Class D Felony, and 11 counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th Degree, a Class A misdemeanor.
Further charges against Hitchcock include Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree for possessing methamphetamine with intent to sell, a Class B felony, as well as Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree, a Class A misdemeanor. Because Hitchcock is a convicted felon, if he is found guilty of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree, he will face a minimum of 10 years in prison for that charge.
