(WNY News Now) – Officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s Violent Crime and K9 Units apprehended a Lakewood, NY, resident following a traffic stop on South Main St. that led to the discovery of methamphetamine, cocaine, and oxycodone pills in his vehicle.
August 18, 2023, at approximately 01:35 AM, the Violent Crime and K9 Units of the Jamestown Police Department carried out a routine traffic stop on a vehicle in the vicinity of South Main Street due to observed traffic infractions. During the course of the stop, law enforcement officials engaged with the driver, identified as 57-year-old Lakewood resident Ronald L. Decker.
Subsequent to their interaction, officers initiated a search of Decker’s vehicle as part of their investigation. This search yielded a significant quantity of illicit substances, including methamphetamine, cocaine, and oxycodone pills.
As a result of the findings, Ronald L. Decker was taken into custody. He now faces multiple charges including counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, and a charge for Failing to Stop at a Stop Sign.
Following his arrest, Decker was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where he is currently detained pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
