(WNY News Now) – Two Jamestown residents were apprehended by Jamestown Police after violating Stay Away Orders of Protection, resulting in charges of Criminal Contempt and an Aggravated Family Offense.
Jamestown – In an incident that transpired on August 20, 2023, around 6:00 PM, the Jamestown Police Department responded to a well-being check on the North side. The officers’ arrival at an apartment building unraveled an unexpected violation of Stay Away Orders of Protection.
Upon arriving at the apartment building’s staircase, Officers encountered Jakiera Wright, 19, and Robert Gilbert, 22, both of Jamestown conversing willingly in close proximity. An investigation showed both individuals were identified to be under Stay Away Orders of Protection, previously mandated by the Jamestown City Court.
Officers arrested both Wright and Gilbert without incident. The pair was subsequently transported separately to the City Jail. Jakiera Wright now faces charges of Criminal Contempt in the 2nd degree, while Robert Gilbert finds himself confronting charges of Criminal Contempt in the 1st degree, a felony, and an additional count of Aggravated Family Offense, also classified as a felony.
Both are being held pending arraignment.
